List of the Solo mechanics used to play the game, with links for more details:
Mythic Game Master Emulator – my basic tool for solo roleplay. I use it together with Mythic Variations 1 and Mythic Variations 2. The elements I use regularly are Fate Check & Detail Check (V2), Scene Setup mechanism (Mythic), and Random Event mechanism (V1).
Homebrew Fate Check 1 – I’ve found that I prefer more varied Oracle type of checks, so I’ve modified the V2 Fate Check, still using 2D10, to cover results as below. I can still apply the modifiers (including Chaos Factor modifiers) as per FC.
Roll | Result |
2 | No, and… |
3-9 | No |
10 | No, but… |
11 | Yes, but… |
12-19 | Yes |
20 | Yes, and… |
Homebrew Fate Check 2 – after crunching the numbers I’ve realised the 2D10-based FC is skewerd towards “Yes” (55%), so I’ve decided to give a D100 FC a chance. I’m still tweaking the numbers, especially the modifiers, but my current table looks as below:
Roll | Result | Modifier | ||
1-10 | No, and… | Chaos Factor | +/- 20
11-40 | No | Un/Likely | +/- 20
41-50 | No, but… | Very | +/- 30
51-60 | Yes, but… | Sure thing | +/- 40
61-90 | Yes | Has to be | +/- 45
91-100 | Yes, and… |
The roll of 1 is always “No, and…”, and roll of 100 is always “Yes, and…”. Depending on the situation I might slightly adjust the modifiers.
Universal NPC Emulator – A system to handle NPC interactions. For those situations where Detail Check doesn’t seem enough, for example where the mood of NPC affects the outcome.
